Motivation
“Party Hard, Tread Lightly” is the widely campaigned motto for South Africa’s favorite new outdoor music festival Rocking the Daisies. This motto contains the ethos of forward-thinking and environmentally conscious individuals and promotes a fun-filled approach to caring for the environment. Complete Events is the groundbreaking company behind this brilliant concept. Hemporium is a brand synonymous with natural solutions to a healthy environment and plays a huge role in the sustainability of this event.
Greg Nicolson is the pioneer of a notable wildflower preservation and research project, who recently completed a solo walk all the way from the Namibian border to Cape Town in a bid to document and raise awareness about the rare species’ growing in the road reserve along the N7 motorway.
Nathan Heller is an enthusiastic promoter of culture and talent in the Mother City with a striving attraction to all motives environmentally conscious and sustainable.
This weekend they all come together to party hard and tread lightly, to promote the cause of environmental awareness by spotlighting Greg’s significant project on wildflowers and his strong initiative to walk the talk.
Greg and Nathan will be walking to the festival near Darling, 80km from Cape Town city.
Their route will be a two-day 60km walk from the start of the West Coast scenic route, just outside Bloubergstrand. They will depart early on Thursday 2 October and stop overnight in the Silwerstroomstrand area to continue at first light towards Cloof Wine Estate outside Darling, to enter Rocking the Daises Music Festival on Friday afternoon just in time for a weekend of pure fun in the sun. The journey will be documented by Greg’s quality photography and presented to the media with the aim of promoting a growing sense of environmental awareness amongst the party-goers and wider audience, with special attention to the youth sector.
